Adverse Effects of the Artelon CMC Spacer Device – New York Attorney Scott Harford

New York attorney Scott Harford of Lynch Daskal Emery talks about the risks of improperly placed or defective medical devices.

The Artelon CMC spacer is a medical device that is implanted into the patient’s thumb. It is used to help alleviate pain and inflammation that is sometimes caused by degenerative diseases such as arthritis. In a product that is supposed to help people, it is very upsetting that there are so many adverse event reports given to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regarding the harm it is causing. The body begins to reject the device causing even more inflammation, pain, and even bone deterioration and loss for the patient. On top of that, the polyurethane material inside the device has been known to break down the thumb joint causing even more surgery for the patient. Watch the video to learn more.
